School Health Programme at IINR: Promoting Health and Hygiene Awareness Among Children
Empowering Young Minds Through the School Health Programme at IINR
The School Health Programme at IINR was a remarkable initiative conducted by the GNM 3rd Year Intern Batch at Ghoshpara Primary School, Kalyani, Nadia. The event aimed to educate and engage young learners on essential aspects of health, hygiene, and wellness through interactive and practical activities.
Students from IINR took an active role in conducting health check-ups, organising awareness sessions, and performing educational skits that highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness and healthy habits. These activities encouraged children to adopt preventive healthcare measures and understand how small lifestyle changes can make a big difference.
The programme not only benefited the school children but also helped nursing students develop essential community health skills, communication abilities, and a sense of social responsibility.

Guidance, Participation, and Impact
Under the guidance of IINR faculty members, the School Health Programme was executed successfully with great enthusiasm and teamwork. The faculty appreciated the students for their proactive approach and commitment to spreading health awareness at the grassroots level.
Through such community-based initiatives, IINR continues to reinforce the role of nurses as educators and advocates for healthier societies. The event stood as a testament to the institution’s dedication to fostering compassionate healthcare professionals who can bring real change to their communities.
