BPCCHN Course Programme at IINR: Strengthening Community Health Nursing Skills

BPCCHN Course Programme at IINR | Enhancing Community Health Nursing Education

The BPCCHN Course Programme was conducted for the 8th Semester B.Sc. Nursing students with the primary objective of strengthening their knowledge and practical skills in the field of community health nursing. The programme was systematically planned and implemented to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of essential public health concepts and their application in community settings.

The programme comprised structured and well-organised sessions covering community health skills, maternal and newborn health, reproductive and adolescent health, communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, and emergency care. Each session emphasised preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative aspects of nursing care, enabling students to correlate theoretical knowledge with practical community-based scenarios.

The teaching–learning process was interactive in nature, incorporating discussions, question–answer sessions, and real-life examples to enhance student engagement and understanding. The programme concluded with an interactive discussion and feedback session, during which students actively participated, clarified their queries, and reflected on the learning outcomes. Overall, the programme was effective in enhancing students’ confidence, competence, and preparedness for community-oriented nursing practice.
