A Moment of Pride, Purpose, and New Beginnings
The International Institute of Nursing & Research (IINR) recently held its 7th Lamp Lighting & Oath-Taking Ceremony at the Kalyani University Auditorium, marking a deeply symbolic and heartfelt milestone in the lives of our new nursing students. The event stood as a testament to the values of dedication, compassion, and commitment that define the noble profession of nursing.

A Ceremony Rooted in Tradition and Purpose
The occasion began with a solemn and graceful lamp-lighting ritual, a symbol of passing on the flame of knowledge and care. The dignified presence of our Chief Guest, Swami Suvirananda Ji, brought immense spiritual strength and serenity to the moment. He was joined by our Special Guests – Dr. Usha Mallick, Secretary of the Trained Nurse Association of India (West Bengal Branch); Mr. Shuvankar Maitra, Director of Manorama Hospitex Pvt. Ltd.; Prof. Dr. Amita Ray, Principal of JMN Medical College; and Mrs. Srabani Mandal, Registrar of the West Bengal Nursing Council.
Together with the Principal and Vice Principal of IINR, our guests lit the ceremonial lamp, signifying the illumination of wisdom, care, and responsibility that nursing brings into the world.
Embracing the Calling of Care
As the auditorium stood silent in anticipation, the newest batch of nursing students stepped forward in white, their hearts filled with both pride and humility. Each student held a lamp in hand, glowing gently against the backdrop of quiet reverence.
With lamps lit and eyes reflecting a mix of hope and responsibility, they joined voices to take the Oath of Nursing. The pledge was not merely a tradition but a commitment to serve with integrity, empathy, and unwavering dedication. The quiet solemnity of this moment carried the weight of a lifetime commitment to patient care and professional excellence.

Lighting the Path Ahead
This ceremony marked the official beginning of their journey into the field of nursing, a career built on service, compassion, and sacrifice. Faculty, management, and family members looked on with pride as students embraced their new identity, ready to uphold the legacy of care.
The event concluded with words of encouragement from our esteemed guests, each highlighting the role of nurses as pillars of the healthcare system. Their guidance and presence added immense meaning to the occasion, inspiring the students to walk their path with confidence and purpose.
