Due to legal restrictions around the use of “International” in the institution’s name for registration purposes, the formal registration of the IINR Alumni Association is in process under an alternative name. Meanwhile, an Interim Alumni Committee has been established to ensure seamless alumni engagement and operational functions, ensuring continued contribution from alumni to the institution’s growth.

Challenges

DELAYED REGISTRATION
The legal challenge of registering the association under the name “International” remains an issue. However, the institution has taken proactive steps to register the Alumni Association under a modified name, adhering to legal requirements. The formal registration process is currently underway.
LIMITED FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
While alumni are actively involved in mentoring and career support, financial contributions towards institutional development have been modest due to the young age of the institution and the relatively recent establishment of the alumni body. Efforts are underway to engage alumni in more philanthropic activities.
ENGAGEMENT BEYOND WEST BENGAL
A large portion of alumni is located within the West Bengal region, with comparatively lower engagement from alumni working internationally or in other states. The institution is working on creating more effective virtual networking platforms to ensure wider participation from alumni across the globe.

Strategic Plans for Strengthening Alumni Relations

ESTABLISHING A GLOBAL ALUMNI NETWORK
To address the challenge of limited engagement from alumni working abroad, the institution plans to launch a Global Alumni Network (GAN) that will provide a platform for alumni across the world to stay connected with IINR. This network will facilitate cross-border collaboration, exchange programs, and research opportunities, ultimately benefiting both students and the institution.
CREATION OF AN ALUMNI PORTAL
The institution is developing an online alumni portal that will allow alumni to update their professional achievements, access institutional updates, participate in virtual events, and engage in mentoring programs. This portal will serve as a one-stop solution for alumni interaction and data management, providing a dynamic resource to the institution for tracking alumni contributions and engagement.
ALUMNI CHAPTERS AND REGIONAL UNITS
To expand the reach of alumni activities, regional Alumni Chapters will be set up in major cities and healthcare hubs across India and internationally. These chapters will act as regional hubs for alumni to meet, network, and contribute locally to IINR’s growth. Each chapter will coordinate with the central alumni body to organize activities and provide localized support for students and new graduates.
ALUMNI FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES
The institution plans to introduce formal fundraising campaigns aimed at engaging alumni in supporting various initiatives, such as scholarships for economically disadvantaged students, funding for advanced medical research, and infrastructural improvements. These campaigns will highlight specific projects to attract alumni contributions and align with the institution’s mission of excellence in education and healthcare.
ANNUAL ALUMNI AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
To acknowledge the contributions of alumni, IINR will introduce an Annual Alumni Awards event. The awards will recognize achievements in various categories, including clinical excellence, leadership in healthcare, contributions to research, and community service. This initiative aims to motivate alumni to remain actively involved with the institution and set a positive example for current students.
COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH AND KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE
The institution will encourage alumni to participate in collaborative research projects and knowledge-sharing platforms. Alumni working in various specialties will be invited to lead or collaborate on research initiatives, conduct workshops, or present their findings through webinars and conferences. This will foster an academic exchange that benefits both alumni and the current student body.

Strategic Partnerships with Healthcare Institutions

IINR aims to leverage its alumni working in leadership roles within hospitals and healthcare organizations to form strategic partnerships. These partnerships will provide students with enhanced internship opportunities, clinical training, and access to cutting-edge medical practices. Alumni can also play an instrumental role in facilitating Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between their organizations and IINR, benefiting both students and the institution.
ALUMNI CONTRIBUTIONS TO CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
Alumni, especially those in clinical and academic leadership positions, will be invited to contribute to the curriculum development process. Their feedback and insights on the latest industry trends, patient care protocols, and technological advancements will ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and up-to-date.
